How We Started
It all started with a realization: many students at Central Bucks were curious about STEM but lacked the resources and opportunities to fully explore it. Our founder, Sanjana Chamarty, a junior at Central Bucks South High School, experienced this firsthand while competing in Technology Student Association (TSA) conferences during the 2024–25 school year. By the time she reached the national level, the challenges became clear — over $1,000 spent on competitions and events, limited access to resources, and underrepresentation in STEM initiatives. By partnering with Co-Founder Adhavan Balachandar, they were able to create CB STEM and provide students with the resources to explore their passions in STEM.
Rather than accepting these barriers, she decided to act. Inspired by her own journey and a desire to make STEM more equitable, she brought together a group of like-minded peers. What began as small tutoring sessions and informal projects soon grew into CB STEM — a student-led initiative dedicated to strengthening STEM programs, creating hands-on experiences, and ensuring students have access to the tools and opportunities they deserve.
Today, our volunteers continue to carry that mission forward, hosting workshops, competitions, and community projects that make STEM fun, accessible, and impactful for students across our school and beyond.
