Internship Program — Cohort 1

Virtual

Interns conduct independent research in a field of their choice and develop a lesson plan to showcase their findings. The lesson plan is then presented to younger students as part of an open-house STEM educational event.

Build-a-Bridge Challenge

Unami Middle School
3-Day Event · 50 min per session

Students compete to build the strongest bridge using 25 wooden sticks, 1 meter of string, 1 sheet of cardboard, and unlimited tape/glue — all in 50 minutes. The event spans three days: Day 1 for planning, Day 2 for building, and Day 3 for testing with weights. Winners receive gift cards and Unami Middle School merch!

CB STEM Hack-a-Thon

~7 Hour Event

Students will collaboratively code a product under 5 hours to build a solution to a world-wide problem statement. Afterward, these students will pitch their solution to a panel of judges. Winners will recieve prizes ranging from jumbo candy bars/boxes to gift card baskets and bouqets. The event spans ~7 hours.

Biology + Chemistry Masterclass

Google Meet (Virtual)

Provided passionate biology and chemistry students with a preview of concepts from AP Biology and Honors Chemistry, giving them a head start on rigorous coursework in a welcoming, student-led setting.
